Artichoke
|
| |
| Artichoke is used for appetite loss and liver and gallbladder problems. Although it has been
proven effective only for the preceding problems, in folk medicine Artichoke is used to
treat a variety of digestive problems, prevent the return of gallstones, and speed recovery
during convalescence. |
|
| Because Artichoke stimulates the flow of bile, do not take this herb if you have a bile duct
blockage. Take Artichoke with caution if you suffer from gallstones; you could develop
painful spasms. You should also be aware that frequent contact with Artichoke occasionally
leads to allergic reactions. If you react badly to Artichoke, you may also suffer a reaction
to other plants in its family, including chrysanthemums. This information is for educational
purposes and should not replace discussions with your doctor. |
