Asarabacca

Asarabacca is used for asthma, cough, and bronchitis, but has yet to win official recognition as effective. It has also been used, without scientific validation, to induce vomiting, promote menstruation, trigger abortion, and relieve a variety of ailments, including eye inflammations, chronic sneezing, pneumonia, heart pain (angina), migraine, liver disease, and dehydration. In homeopathic medicine, it is recommended for nervous problems.

Take only the extract; use of the natural dried root is not advised. Asarabacca is not for children under 12. Be aware that a compound in Asarabacca root has caused liver cancer in mice. No drug interactions have been reported. This information is for educational purposes and should not replace discussions with your doctor.
