Bitter Apple
|
| |
| Bitter Apple was used to stimulate bowel movements in cases of constipation, and to treat
liver and gallbladder conditions. However, it is a poison that has been replaced by safer
medications and its use is no longer recommended. Homeopathic medicine uses highly diluted
preparations of Bitter Apple (referred to as Colocynthis) as a remedy for conditions with
symptoms of abdominal spasm and griping, such as colic, diarrhea, and menstrual cramps. The
effectiveness of these homeopathic solutions has not been verified in clinical trials. |
|
| Do not use Bitter Apple in any but its weak homeopathic form. It is poisonous. Bitter Apple
is highly toxic and, even in small amounts, can be fatal. Use other, safer, laxatives if
constipation is a problem. No drug interactions have been reported. This information is for
educational purposes and should not replace discussions with your doctor. |
