Bloodroot

| Bloodroot is used for gingivitis. Once a popular cough medicine, Bloodroot is now valued
primarily for its ability to prevent dental plaque and gum disease. An extract of the herb
is found in many toothpastes and mouthwashes. |

| No known medical conditions preclude the use of Bloodroot. Doses of 300 milligrams or more
cause vomiting; in fact, the herb was once used for this purpose. Higher doses are
