Cocoa

Cocoa is used for diarrhea, urinary tract infections, and liver and gallbladder disorders. However, there's little evidence of its effectiveness for these problems. Other unverified uses include diabetes and intestinal infections.

If you suffer from migraine, it's best to avoid chocolate. It carries compounds that can trigger attacks. Avoid it, too, if it sparks an allergic reaction. Cocoa contains significant amounts of caffeine, so overindulgence in chocolate products can lead to overexcitability, a racing pulse, and sleep disorders. In large amounts, Cocoa can also cause constipation. No drug interactions have been reported. This information is for educational purposes and should not replace discussions with your doctor.
