Coptis
|
| |
| Coptis is used for digestive-tract infections such as dysentery and intestinal parasites.
It also serves as a tonic for liver disorders and as a treatment for high fever. Applied
externally, it is used to relieve eye pain and ulcerative conditions of the mouth such as
canker sores. Although laboratory analysis has confirmed the presence of germ-fighting
compounds in Coptis, its effectiveness has not been verified by formal clinical trials. |
|
| No known medical conditions preclude the use of Coptis. At customary dosage levels, Coptis
poses no known risks. However, long-term use can lead to digestive problems. If any develop,
stop using this herb and check with your doctor. No drug interactions have been reported.
This information is for educational purposes and should not replace discussions with your
